CHOSEN CHRISTMAS CHARITY 2018 - Kidney Research UK

A 29 year old niece of one of the staff members at the Barnes Montessori had a kidney transplant. This was after a long time waiting for the right ‘match’. Without the transplant she would most definitely have been on dialysis for the rest of her life. Sophie had faced many health challenges. Her father, who had his own health issues he had to address, was finally able to donate one of his kidneys. This has not come without its worries, challenges and post ‘op’ setbacks.

Kidney Research UK funds ground breaking research to develop treatment and save lives.

The school raised the incredible sum of £4,180 at their Christmas Concert.

The school had their customary auction and cake stall. With the kind generosity of parents whether donating for the auction, bidding and further donations this sum was raised. Many also baked and bought cakes and biscuits.

On behalf of myself, Miss Colette, Sophie and all her family, in addition to KIDNEY RESEARCH UK heartfelt thanks to you all. Hopefully many will further benefit.

Kidney Research UK have written a letter of thanks… (click here to read it).
